Chocolate Kintsugi is our more mindful take on chocolate painting: part creative hangout, part intentional slowdown, and absolutely not an exercise in making something perfect.
Inspired by the Japanese art of Kintsugi, which honours cracks rather than disguising them, you’ll start by painting a handcrafted chocolate canvas using edible cocoa butter paints.
Then we ask you to do something that feels mildly illegal:
Break it. On purpose.
You’ll bring the pieces back together with shimmering 24k edible gold, turning the cracks into part of the artwork instead of something to hide.
There’s no scrolling, no keeping up, no comparison game and no expectation that your canvas should look like anybody else’s. For a couple of hours, you get to sit down, make something with your hands, have an actual conversation if you want one, and let imperfect be perfectly acceptable.
A radical concept, apparently.
Come solo, bring a friend, plan a date, or gather your favourite overstimulated humans. No artistic experience required.
Your ticket includes:
- A handcrafted chocolate canvas
- Edible cocoa butter paints + brushes
- 24k edible gold for repairing your canvas
- All tools and supplies
- Tea, sparkling water or seasonal non-alcoholic sips
- A box for taking your gloriously imperfect chocolate creation home
You can talk. You can laugh. You can make questionable artistic decisions.
That’s kind of the point.
Hosted at QUEST XO’s Creative Lab in Liberty Village, this small-group experience is creative, introspective and relaxed without turning into a silent meditation retreat.
- Each guest requires their own ticket to participate
- Attending with a child? If you'd like to support your kiddo while they paint, we’re happy to add an extra chair at the table. Please include a note with your booking so we can plan the seating accordingly.
- Refunds / date transfers – Our events require advance ingredient prep and seating planning, so tickets are non-refundable and cannot be moved to another date. If you can’t make it, send a friend in your place — just have them give your name at check-in.
